Arthur, a third-generation jeweler, grew up in his Chicago area family jewelry store and has been working as a bench jeweler/ gemologist since 1980. Arthur's grandfather was a watchmaker and his father was a jeweler/gemologist and watchmaker. Arthur later moved to California to study, and later teach, at the prestigious Gemological Institute of America (GIA). He was the first instructor at GIA to teach Jewelry Manufacturing, Jewelry Design, and Resident Gemology. Arthur's work also led to teaching in New York and Bangkok. After 15 years of teaching in California and consulting in New York's jewelry district, Arthur opened his own jewelry trade school in Colorado. He was prolific in publishing, with over 100 jewelry trade articles, co-writing a jewelry/gemology book in 2005, and also speaking at international gem shows. Georgetown Jewelers is fortunate to have had Arthur join their team in 2015.
Arthur's hobbies include music, playing and rebuilding guitars.
